TiE Pittsburgh is a non-profit group made up of business founders, company leaders, and top professionals who all work together to support entrepreneurship in the Pittsburgh area.
The group believes that strong ideas can change the world of business. They help grow businesses through five main areas: mentoring, networking, education, incubating, and funding.
TiE Pittsburgh’s main members have helped create over 10,000 jobs in the area and brought in over $600 million in venture capital.

TiE was started in 1992 by a group of successful business owners. Today, it’s the world’s biggest organization for entrepreneurs. Its programs, like TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE), support every step of building a business — from starting up, to growing, to earning money, to giving back to local communities.
These programs also aim to inspire the next generation of business leaders, including young people who want to improve AI by making it reflect different cultures and values.
The TiE Young Entrepreneurs (TYE) program is a flexible, seven-week summer program for high school students. It’s more than just a class or camp. Students work in teams to come up with real business ideas and present them to real investors.
The program helps students become more confident, creative, and better at solving problems. It also connects them with mentors and other big thinkers. Many students say it’s a life-changing experience, and they often write about it in their college essays and scholarship applications.
