ATLANTA — ATL’s CEO Kasim Reed and rap impresario T.I. provided a brief respite from the disturbing national and international narrative currently raging every day by giving away turkeys and other goods on the eve of Thanksgiving for the residents in proximity of the Adamsville Recreational Center.

The two men were joined by the city’s first lady Sarah Elizabeth Reed and their daughter, Maria Kristan, most of Tip’s family and Amy Phuong, the commissioner of Atanta’s Parks and Recreation Service, in the 12th annual turkey giveaway created by the City of Atlanta Mayor’s Office of Constituent Services.

At least for a few hours, there was no thoughts of the dastardly, deadly attacks in Paris or the controversy over Syrian refugees or the protests erupting in Chicago. Reed and Tip were enveloped by a different kind of madness, the adulation of the residents of this west side Atlanta community. V-103’s Greg Street and Waka Flocka Flame’s mother-manager Debra Antney were also in attendance for this highly-anticipated event to give out food and holiday cheer.
