Basketball Camp
JULY 29—P.R.O.M.I.S.E. will host the 5th Annual Jakim Donaldson Basketball Camp from 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. at Oliver High School, 2323 Brighton Rd., North Side. For three days, through July 31, boys and girls ages 8-18 are welcome to this free basketball camp to learn necessary basketball skills. Lunch will be provided and campers must bring active gear and shoes as well as provide proof of income. Registration is required. Fashion Show/Pool Party
JULY 31— B. Marshall Productions will host Pittsburgh’s Fashion Show & Super MODELS Pool Party from 5-10 p.m. at Sherwood Event Center, 400 Sherwood Rd., Wilkinsburg. The event will include celebrity hosts Vanessa Doss and Miyoshi Anderson, a Charity Basketball Game, a Fashion Show displaying various designers and other entertainment. Proceeds will benefit Stop the Violence-Pittsburgh and the 2016 Juneteenth Festival in Market Square. For more information, call William Marshall at 724-205-9376.

Unity Day
AUG. 1—Northside Old Timers will host its 9th Annual Unity Day Gathering at 11 a.m. at West Park, North Avenue, North Side. The two-day event, which runs through Aug. 2, will include a Children’s March Against Violence on Aug. 1 and a Praise in the Park on Aug. 2 at 10 a.m. There will be an all day cookout on both days. Alcohol and open grills are not permitted in the park. A Cabaret will also take place on July 31 at 8 p.m. at the West View Banquet Hall. For more information, visit www.northsideoldtimers.com.

OASIS Tutor Training
AUG. 4—OASIS will host its Intergenerational Tutor Training from 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. at Macy’s Department Store, 11th floor, Fifth Avenue, Downtown. Free training will be given to mature adults who are 50 years old or more and would like to commit to tutoring youth for one-hour, per week. All materials, books and supplies will be provided. Black Family Reunion
AUG. 8—Community Empowerment Association will host its annual Black Family Reunion & Cultural Arts Weekend at 11 a.m. at the CEA Cultural Arts Center, 7120 Kelly St., Homewood. The theme is “Developing an Action Plan: Educational, political, economic & social justice directions for the Black community.” The two-day event, which runs through Aug. 9, will include children’s activities, ethnic foods, health screenings, a town hall meeting and youth summit on educational reform, justice and equality, a Black family reunion block party and a celebrity basketball game. Summer Enrichment Academy
ONGOING—5A Elite Youth Empowerment will host a Summer Enrichment Academy from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Park Community Center, 7300 Ridgeview Ave., Penn Hills. Every Friday through Aug. 28, youth ages 10-18 will participate in sports training, dance, peace building, personal awareness workshops and dinner. This is free and registration is required.
