Help develop the city’s 2016 capital budget at deliberative forums – June 3 and 22

Two capital budget deliberative forums will be held on Wednesday, June 3 and Monday June 22 as part of the city’s capital budget development process. Unlike previous years when these meetings were held in the fall after the budget was already drafted and had been presented to City Council and the Intergovernmental Cooperation Authority, these meetings will give residents a real chance to provide their input when it really counts.
Residents will have the chance to let the city know of specific capital work in their neighborhoods that they would like to see done in 2016. The forums are open to every resident of Pittsburgh and high resident participation is crucial to making this format a success, so please share this with your friends, neighbors and community-based groups to ensure equal participation citywide.
Each session will include:

• A brief overview of the budgeting process.
• Small-group discussions of budget priorities and resident’s needs.
• An opportunity for residents to ask questions of an expert panel.

All participants are asked to commit to the entire 2.5 hours of the forum. Refreshments will be provided.
