Karen Civil is such an amazing businesswoman and a great role model. She definitely fits in with the views we have on success and hard work,“ said Shawntae Spencer, Wingstop Owner and Brand Partner.

This event was the kick off for #CarpePittsburgh derived from the well-known term Carpe Diem. “Seize Pittsburgh” introduces the city to a new way of thinking. With the recent boom of Pittsburgh based entrepreneurs and start-ups making waves amongst the influential 18-35 demographic. #CarpePittsburgh is here to prove that there are still viable opportunities in Pittsburgh and the city is basically what you make it.

“Pittsburgh is a great place to be,” said co-sponsor Lola Sims. “We have an advantage on other cities because we can carve our own niche and help produce lanes that can help people expand and grow. Pittsburgh is all about what you make it and right now, it‘s ours for the taking.”
