FEB. 20—The African American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania will host its PowerBreakfast Meeting at 7:30 a.m. at One Oxford Centre. 301 Grant St., Downtown. The guest speaker will be Port Authority of Allegheny County Chief Executive Officer Ellen McLean. Understanding Financial Statements
FEB. 24—The Duquesne University Small Business Development Center will host its “Get Behind the Numbers & Increase Your Profits: Understanding Financial Statements” Workshop from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. at Duquesne University, Rockwell Hall, 600 Forbes Ave., Uptown. This is a hands-on workshop that will provide participants with a step-by-step approach to explaining three important financial statements: cash flow, profit and loss, and balance sheet. A representative from Wilke & Associates will offer clear examples for using these statements to make informed decisions, identify potential problems within a business and set realistic financial goals.
