NBA Hall of Famer and current “NBA on TNT” star commentator Charles Barkley went on a tirade against analytics in the NBA, the Houston Rockets and most particularly stuck his verbal needle into the Rockets’ GM Daryl Morey for using statistics to try to win.
The “Round Mound of Rebound” ripped into the Rockets as a non-contending basketball team and excoriated Morey for thinking that analytics is the key to helping Houston win its first championship since the days of fellow “NBA on TNT” analyst Kenny Smith and Hakeem Olajuwan.
