PITTSBURGH (AP) – The Steel City is getting more transparent.
Pittsburgh’s city government launched a web portal Wednesday featuring detailed budget and financial information.
Fiscal Focus Pittsburgh features tools comparing revenues and expenses over the last three years.
Controller Michael Lamb says they’ll add more information on a monthly basis.
The portal, part of the city’s official website, was developed with Redwood City, Calif.-based OpenGov.com.
The city last year signed a $20,000 contract with the firm to format its financial data for an online audience. It’ll pay the company $20,000 a year to maintain the site.
