Diana Smith, an IRS tax consultant, will discuss recent changes and updates in personal and business taxation that can save individuals money when they file their taxes. Inclusion Series
FEB. 11—Vibrant Pittsburgh will host its Inclusion Best Practices Series from 7:30-9:30 a.m. at Point Park University, Lawrence Hall, 212 Wood St., Downtown. The event will feature a discussion with Nigel Telman, partner at Proskauer Rose LLP and leader of Proskauer’s Midwest Employment & Labor Practices. The topic of the series will be “Understanding the Difference Between Affirmative Action and Diversity and Inclusion Initiatives-A Practical Approach.” The series will feature high-profile companies who will share their stories and best practices on a range of diversity and inclusion topics. Women Breakfast Series
FEB. 13—Chatham University’s Center for Women’s Entrepreneurship will host its Women Business Leaders Breakfast Series from 8-9:30 a.m. at Chatham University, James Laughlin Music Hall, Woodland Rd., Shadyside. Regina Koetters, founder and CEO of Marty’s Market LLC, will be the special guest and speak on the topic, “Unlikely Entrepreneur: The Intersection of Life Experiences, Food, and a Drive to Succeed.” She will share what being an officer in the Navy has taught her about building a business, what starting a company has taught her about building a business, what starting a company has taught her about commanding a ship, and what they both have to teach individuals about entrepreneurship.
