“Black Nativity: A Christmas Gift” was performed on two weekends, Dec. 12-14 and 19-21, at Pitt’s Alumni Hall in Oakland.
This theater production featured an all African-American cast and was based on Langston Hughes’ musical dramatization of the “Christmas Story.”
The production was sponsored by the University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Africana Studies and featured Pitt’s Shona Sharif African Dance and Drum Ensemble.
