Awards Ceremony
DEC. 13—Achieving Greatness Inc. will host its First Annual Achieving Greatness Award Ceremony from 6-10 p.m. at the Blue Line Grill, 1014 Fifth Ave., Uptown. The evening will include the Pittsburgh City League Hall of Fame Induction, the Willie Stargell Memorial MVP Awards and the Connie Hawkins Hall of Fame Induction. Special guest MCs include Kevin Cameron, Rita Gregory, Smokin’ Jim Frazier and Debbie Norrell. This is a dress to impress event that will benefit the Toys for Tots Christmas Party. Holiday Celebration
DEC. 13—Forever Friends will host its Holiday Celebration from 8 p.m.-1 a.m. at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, 101 Mall Blvd., Monroeville. Coats & Cocktails
DEC. 16—The Pittsburgh Black Media Federation will host its “Coats & Cocktails” Holiday Happy Hour & Coat Drive from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Cavo, 1916 Smallman St., Strip District. Enjoy a laid back vibe, hors d’oeuvres and prize giveaways. Admission will be discounted with the donation of a new or gently used adult or child’s coat and/ or accessories. Installation Ceremony

Community Conversation
DEC. 19—The Black Political Empowerment Project, the Alliance for Police Accountability, The Northside Pastors Alliance and others will host a Breakfast and “Community Conversation” with Pittsburgh Police Chief Cameron McLay from 9-11 a.m. at Project Destiny Inc., 2200 California Ave., North Side. The event will be facilitated by Lisa Sylvester of WPXI-TV and includes breakfast. Attendees are welcomed to submit their concerns, questions and suggestions. Reservations are required by Dec. 12.
