Leadership Gala
    DEC. 5—The Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh will host its 19th Annual Ronald H. Brown Leadership Awards Gala at 7 p.m. at the Westin Convention Center Hotel, 1000 Penn Ave., Downtown. This is a Black Tie Affair preferred event that will include dinner, dancing, dessert and a silent auction. The evening’s honorees will be Rev. Open House/Dedication
    DEC. 5—Pittsburgh Mercy Health System and Mercy Behavioral Health will host a Community Open House and Dedication Ceremony for its newly renovated Community Treatment Team facility at 2 p.m. at 315 S. 9th St., South Side. The facility will offer comprehensive outreach and specialized, community based mental health services. Holiday Party
    DEC. 5—The Bloomfield-Garfield Corporation will host its Family Holiday Party from 5:30-8 p.m. at the BGC Community Activity Center, 113 N. Pacific Ave., Garfield. Youth Basketball League
    DEC. 13—The Penn Hills Branch of the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh will host a Youth Basketball League. Boys and girls in grades 1st-6th are invited to learn the game of basketball, improve on skills and make new friends. Practices will be held Saturdays and one weeknight through March 21. Awards Ceremony
    DEC. 13—Achieving Greatness Inc. will host its First Annual Achieving Greatness Award Ceremony from 6-10 p.m. at the Blue Line Grill, 1014 Fifth Ave., Uptown. The evening will include the Pittsburgh City League Hall of Fame Induction, the Willie Stargell Memorial MVP Awards and the Connie Hawkins Hall of Fame Induction. Special guest MCs include Kevin Cameron, Rita Gregory, Smokin’ Jim Frazier and Debbie Norrell. This is a dress to impress event that will benefit the Toys for Tots Christmas Party.
