There was an article posted on msn.com on last Sunday lamenting scalpers in Detroit selling “free” tickets that were given away for the rescheduled Monday night game that was played in Detroit at Ford Field between the Buffalo Bills and the NY Jets because of the recent monstrous snow storm in Buffalo and other parts of western New York state. Eventually, the game had to be relocated to the motor city.
The title of the msn piece was, “Scalpers in Detroit selling free Jets-Bills tickets for $125.” The article went on to say, “Free tickets are surprisingly expensive in Detroit. After a record amount of snow hit New York recently, Sunday’s Bills-Jets game—originally scheduled to be played in Buffalo—was moved to Monday night in Detroit. General-admission tickets for the game at Ford Field were made available for free on Saturday, and were all snatched up quickly. The Lions held on to 500 tickets at the box office, but those freebies were scooped up within 10 minutes of being made available Sunday morning. Enter: scalpers. Soon after collecting their free tickets, “fans” took to the streets surrounding the stadium and attempted to sell them for an amount much more than free, with one scalper asking for as much as $125 a ticket, according to ESPN’s Mike Rodak. “This ain’t a free game, man,” one scalper told Rodak.” If the purveyors of NFL tickets are making a little extra money, so what. Plus, why wasn’t “complimentary only” or some other disclaimer such as “not for resale” printed boldly across the face of the tickets to prevent them from being sold? to resale of these free tickets are not the fault of the sellers, the fault lies squarely on the doorstep of the NFL. Also, there is a mean spirited, racist attitude toward anyone making a living that does not coincide with the vision of the majority of Americans. The majority of these so-called “accredited journalists” won’t express inflammatory opinions but stoke the fires and biased opinions along with wild ranting and raving by “boobleheaded tea party, butt kissin’, bloggers.
“I caution you, what you are about to read will probably make your blood boil because some people will use any and every platform to throw daggers at African-Americans in full daylight. Following are a few of the remarks coming from the camp of the disciples of the late George Wallace, former supreme segregationist and the once legendary governor of the state of Alabama. Walter Engler @ none of your business wrote, “Best way to handle people scalping what was free tickets—drag them into the street and beat them with bats until they stop moving. Honestly, these people have no value to society and like any parasites should be eliminated.”
Richard Johnson , School of Hard Knox spewed his hate venom by posting, “Or we could shoot them and their families, and their relatives the past 200 years. I think that would clear up the Detroit problem.” Brad Bough replied with glee, “Detroit? Truth be known, the scalper probably got $125 dollars worth of FOOD STAMPS for the ticket.” Richard Johnson School of Hard Knox replied: “Ha Ha Ha, awesome.” Billy Kidwell pulled a few cards out of his “race deck” by writing, “the Blacks are at it again.” Finally someone stepped up in the defense of “free enterprise.” “Really?” rote Debi Jarrel “And you know the scalpers are Black because?” James Kushner, Head Honcho at Lockport Outdoor Store wrote, “I thought you guys out there on the far right were in favor of “unfettered capitalism.”
Isn’t this the very definition of your credo? I mean, I get something for nothing and sell it to the first sucker silly enough to cough up his hard earned dough for a worthless piece of cardboard that allows the owner to sit around, with watered-down beer, and shout obnoxiously. What’s your problem? Guess your jealous.”
What about all of the free labor that the NCAA gets from unpaid college athletes? No one wants to kill any of the families of the NCAA power brokers because they get free stuff. If athletes and coaches can be fined for expressing their opinions, why can everyone else get away with making caustic and inflammatory statements bold enough to possibly incite civil unrest? As far as I am concerned, America had better stop worrying about Ferguson, Mo. and concentrate on cities with names like, Bluefield, W.Va. and Louisville, Ky. along with entire states spelled M-i-ss-i-ss-i-pp-i and L-o-u-i-s-i-a-n-a. a few of these states have been racially unequal and have remained so, long after the emancipation proclamation was signed and sealed. So, all of you race baiters don’t advocate to kill anyone of a different race or gender. Just mind your own business and kill personal, prejudiced and dark thoughts about those that are different than you.
