Billy Strayhorn Birthday Bash
The Kelly Strayhorn Theater presents the 7th Annual Suite Life: A Billy Strayhorn Birthday Bash at 8 p.m. at Kelly Strayhorn Theater, 5941 Penn Ave., East Liberty. This is a celebration of the 99th birthday of jazz legend, composer and KST namesake Billy Strayhorn. The evening will include a VIP cocktail reception and tribute concert with jazz drummer Roger Humphries, vocalist Spanky Wilson and the youth brass quintet C Street Brass. Family Hospice and Palliative Care presents its “Festival of Voices” Concert at 6 p.m. at Wesley Center AMEZ Church, 2701 Centre Ave., Hill District. Special guest mistress of ceremonies and gospel recording artist Bishop Yvette Flaunder of California will host the evening. There will also be performances from Rev.
