:10—We are proud to introduce and present to you the first ever, soon to be annual, Pittsburgh City League All-Sports Hall of Fame Inductions, coming to you live Saturday, Dec. 13, at the fabulous Blue Line Grille, Downtown Pittsburgh on 5th Avenue, across the street from the back of CONSOL Energy Center.
:09—This will be an historic precedent setting event that will recognize, honor and induct into the City League’s own Hall of Fame.
:08—Phase I of this special event will be the posthumously induction of the City League’s greatest all-time athletes.
:07—Phase II will begin the process, beginning this year, of inducting 10 athletes from the Pittsburgh City League each year.
:06—A special committee made up of former Pittsburgh City League athletes, educators, sports historians, sports personalities, researchers and media representatives have been assembled to take on this grueling and tireless project to represent, enhance and shoulder the glorious history of City League athletes. No small task to be sure!
:05—The requirements for induction are basic and generally the same as other similar inductions. No. 1—You have to have attended city league high school for three years. No. 2—You must have graduated. No. 3 —You must be an outstanding member of your varsity sport. No. 4—You have to demonstrate sufficient integrity and moral character. No. 5—Coaches have to coach a minimum of five years. No. 6—Inductee must be able to attend the ceremony. No. 7—You are eligible five years after graduation. No. 8—Induction is based primarily on your high school achievements. No. 9—Inductions are given to both men and women in all varsity sports. No. 10—Negative activity during and after high school can affect your selection.
