There is a crane with an American flag prominently displayed, sitting high above downtown Pittsburgh right above my private office window which happens to be on the 18th floor. I have just returned from my lunch, (a cup of coffee and a Danish at Starbucks) and taken the time to listen to a few African Americans converse along the way.
It seems as if many folks, whether they are eating mashed potatoes with gravy or on their way to the nursing home to see Uncle Grady or maybe just being downright “shady” need to take a second look at the old saying’ “the truth shall set you free.”
I just don’t get it now, yesterday or next year. African Americans seem to be fickle. They love to be tickled and they are about to be pickled if they don’t beware the “Ides of March” warnings issued to them by the “right wing” kill em or jail em system in America. Those that are totally opposite of the “left” spoke clearly on November 4, 2014. The first sentence uttered to poor folks by the Republicans read something like this; “We have not come to praise Barack Obama, we have come to bury him. The inaction of “you people” dug the hole for this “Kenyan” President willingly and aimlessly, and we have come to finish him off.”
Ebola is not the only infection that Black Americans and poor Americans have to worry about. The so-called democratic system of government is at the very best a farce and at the very least criminal, fraudulent and devious. Now here comes the soul less right wing soldiers marching toward and digging premature graves for the disenfranchised, armed with a bible in one hand and an uzi in the other.
These “thieves of humanity” are buying all of the guns, stealing all of the votes and sealing the fates of the poor for what may be an eternity. For those of you who still think that Madea is real and that Beyonce and JayZ have you penciled in to be their dinner guest next weekend in Vegas, well I suggest that you go take a short nap, lay off the Vicodin and the Old English and then wake up and kiss reality, not a reality show.
The Supreme Court of the United States of America recently struck down voting rights laws saying in effect that “voting equality had been achieved.” Misinformation at the polls, along with malfunctioning voting machines, gerrymandering, voter ID laws all of the aforementioned guaranteed that people of color and young liberal Whites would have a minimal effect on the 2014 midterm elections.
In some of the heaviest Black populated areas in Georgia, Florida and beyond, voting was manipulated in favor of the real “minorities” in America who just happen to be old and money grubbing rich Whites, along with their trailer park, flag waving, uneducated, moon shine drinking, subordinates.
The “electoral college” has dissolved into “the electrical college” helping Black folks “line dance” and “electric slide” themselves into oblivion.
Let me share with you why the one man, one vote ideology is a “crock .”
First and foremost if there are any changes to be made to voting laws, those changes should now and forever be made by the voters, not by the nine “injustices” sitting on the United States “Sublime” Court whose rulings along with “hanging chads” stole the 2000 presidential election from Al Gore and with their recent voting rights ruling stole the 2014 elections for the “unholy rollers.”
Did you know that your vote does not necessarily count for “jack?” Get your reading glasses out boys’ and girls’. The following, in case a few of you don’t know or have forgotten is how the “the electrical college system” really works. The people of the United States elect a president every four years, but not directly. Here’s how it works.
In November of a presidential election year, each state holds an election for president in which all eligible citizens may vote. Citizens vote for a “ticket” of candidates that includes a candidate for president and a candidate for vice president.
The outcome of the vote in each state determines a slate of electors who then, in turn, make the actual choice of president and vice president. Each state has as many electors as it has senators and members of the House of Representatives, for a total of 538. (The District of Columbia gets three electors even though it has no representation in Congress.)
In December, the electors meet in their respective state capitols to cast their ballots for president and vice president. States may or may not require their electors to vote with the popular majority, and they may or may not give all of their electors to the winner of the statewide popular vote.
These ballots are opened, counted, and certified by a joint session of Congress in January. If no candidate wins a majority of the electoral votes or if the top two candidates are tied, the House of Representatives selects a president from among the five candidates with the most votes. Each state’s delegation has a single vote. The Senate selects a vice president by the same process. (This hasn’t happened since 1876, but it almost happened in 2000.)
In some states the electors may or may not cast their vote based upon the popular vote that was cast in their state. That is deep. You can send someone to the store with a $100 bill and tell them to bring you a steak home and they can go buy $100 dollars worth of “gummy bears” smile and give you the receipt…..wow
The Republicans and their Adolf Hitler surrogate the new Senate Majority Leader, Mitch McConnell are already preparing to repeal “Obamacare.”
President Obama’s reign is now for all intents and purposes over and if he tries any more of his “executive action” stunts, to help immigrants, the poor or just to make life better for average and below average Americans, he had better watch is back and his throne.
Why? Well because they now have the votes in the house and the senate to impeach him for any minor infraction and they do not have to have a “blue dress” in the closet. He better have his birth certificate straight. I thought we had it bad before, but it is getting ready to get crazy.
