Town Hall/ Pancake Breakfast Meeting
NOV. 8—The Community Empowerment Association will host its “The People’s Vision Plan for Homewood” Town Hall and Pancake Breakfast Meeting from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at CEA, 7120 Kelly St., Homewood. The theme is “Getting Ready for Community Benefits.” Attendees will hear from the Homewood Neighborhood Advisory Board on Urban Affairs and learn about plans for new housing, neighborhood beautification, job creation and more. NOBLE Awards/Scholarship
NOV. 8—NOBLE will host its William H. Moore Awards and Scholarship Luncheon from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at the River’s Casino, Allegheny Room, 777 Casino Dr., North Shore. The theme is “NOBLE recognizing volunteers who give of themselves to service others.” Awards nominees include Emma Rhodes, Vanessa German, retired Pa State Trooper David Giddens and Roxanne Plater. Chief Russell Carlino will be awarded the NOBLE Officer of the Year honor. Proceeds from the event will benefit NOBLE’s scholarship and youth programs. Community Conversation
NOV. 10—The Black Political Empowerment Project, the Alliance for Police Accountability, the Urban League of Greater Pittsburgh and others will host a Community Conversation with Pittsburgh’s New Acting Police Chief Cameron McLay from 6:30-8 p.m. at Bethel AME Church, 2720 Webster Ave., Hill District. The community is encouraged to bring their questions, concerns and suggestions. There will also be a session on Nov. 17 at Pentecostal Temple COGIC in East Liberty.
