Last weekend in a story reported by reuters.com, Russian Tennis Federation (RTF) president Shamil Tarpishchev was quoted as describing Serena and Venus Williams as “the Williams” Brothers. Serena was quoted in Singapore saying; “I thought they [his words] were very insensitive and extremely sexist as well as racist at the same time. I thought they were in a way bullying. I’ve done the best that I can do, and that’s all I can say. So I just wasn’t very happy with his comments. I think a lot of people weren’t happy as well. But the WTA and the USTA (United States Tennis Association) did a wonderful job of making sure that — in this day of age, 2014 for someone with his power, it’s really unacceptable to make such bullying remarks.”
As far as characterizing the Williams sisters as men, the Russians have got a lot of damn nerve!
Remember all of the jokes about female Russian athletes in the 1960s and 70s? They were taking so many steroids that some of them had beards longer than the fools on “Duck Dynasty” and grew testicles bigger than “Dolemite.”
Personally, I am a fan of Czech tennis great Martina Navratilova but the entire world knows that she is more “bullish” than Merrill Lynch, so if I were the “Russian rednecks,” I would be a bit more diligent in regards to what is happening in my own backyard before tossing around gender and racial slurs.
The Russians demand that gays and lesbians not only remain in the closet. Their archaic views seem to suggest that homosexuals should be locked safely from public view in a dungeon. Have the Williams sisters come out? I would be surprised if they did, because they both have a full load of “junk in the trunk” along with beautiful smiles and personalties.
Remember the old cartoons and caricatures that depicted Africans and Black Americans as baboons and monkeys? Wait a minute, did I say remember? Well you don’t have to go back very far because some people continue to define Blacks, even the President of the United States, (who just happens to be Black) as baboons’ orangutans’ as well as other “lower primates.”
If there is anyone who possesses and displays primal and barbaric instincts, it may very well be Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Putin fancies himself as the ultimate predator and conqueror and is adamant and proud to display the genetic link to his ancestor the Cro-Magnon man. He wrestles bears, eats meat so rare it may be only a couple minutes removed from breathing. He has no respect for America in general and he has shown a certain and dark disdain for the President of the United States, Barack Obama in particular.
On March 14, 2014 a report published by foxnews.com reported Arizona Senator John McCain as saying; ““President Obama said, ‘20 years ago the Cold War ended,’” McCain said. “He said to (former Russian President Dmitry) Medvedev, ‘Tell Vladimir when I’m re-elected I will be more flexible.’ A gross misreading of the nature and the ambitions of Vladimir Putin and we are paying a very, very heavy price for it.
You saw the picture of those two sitting next to each other, you’ve seen the attitude that Putin has toward the president of the United States. He doesn’t respect him.” The “Cold War” between the United States and Russia may not be over but the “Cold War” in America in regards to minorities appears catching a “dark spark” from the right wing of America, reigniting old and systemic social stereotypes.
Everyone on the “right” is touting all of Barack Obama’s perceived failures, from the Affordable Care Act, the General Motors bailout, the economic stimulus package and yada, yada, yada. If Obama fixed it or is in the process of fixing it; whatever the situation is in all probability it will never be fixed.
If there’s one day that George Bush could choose to relive, it might be May 1, 2003. On May 1, President Bush landed on the USS Abraham Lincoln on a Navy fighter jet. He marched up to the podium and said; “Operation Iraqi Freedom “a job well done. Major combat operations in Iraq have ended.” There was a very premature ‘Mission Accomplished’ banner flapping in the background. He had the stupidity, the nerve and the gall to say; “In the battle of Iraq, the United States and our allies have prevailed.”
Hey after more than ten years in combat in Iraq and Afghanistan did a gross misreading occur by the right wing “hawks” regarding the nature and the resolve of Muslims and Arabs in the region to gain freedom.
The “Bush Cartel” in regards to extracting, maintaining and managing the addiction of the United States to the drug commonly known as “crude oil” sacrificed the American economy and precious American lives and we are paying a very, very heavy price for it.
There is racism and directed at Muslims, Arabs and other cultures originating from Africa and the middle east. However, for 5,000 years our brothers from the east have never accepted domination from any race or origin.
Middle Easterner’s aren’t as passive or permissive as Africans and African Americans. Oh, Africans will massacre and kill each other just as African Americans bring death and destruction to our own neighborhoods daily. Africans kidnapping hundreds of school girls. American Black teenagers killing each other.
Russian President Vladmir Putin stays true to the genealogy that connects him to the Eurocentric traits of perpetual conquest, dominance and the slaughter of any race or nation that he considers weak and possesses something that he might value or desire.
Blacks all over the globe feel more comfortable exerting dominance over each other and killing themselves. The generational lack of self esteem for Africans and African Americans comes from battered psyches’ and centuries of domination and racism. Some of the European and White American critics of Black life have evolved from blood seeking carnivores, blood dripping from their Transylvania sharpened fangs to the seekers of Black blood, words dripping from their pens.
