Frederick Douglas, owner of Cosmos Technologies, Inc. speaks favorably of Minority, Women and Disadvantage Business Enterprise certification. “Certification is critical. It provides opportunities,” he indicated during the MWDBE Governmental Committee’s recent event.
“These groups are out there fighting for you,” he said referring to the 20-member organization. Speaking from experience, Cosmos is certified by the Small Business Administration, the Eastern Minority Supplier Development Council, the Pennsylvania Unified Certification Program, and the Pennsylvania Department of General Services and is registered in the PennDot Engineering and Construction Management System. He also holds numerous certifications in the state of Ohio.
As the event’s featured business, Douglas described his 16-year-old business as an engineering consulting firm that conducts technical services in chemical engineering, civil engineering, environmental and safety engineering, mechanical engineering and waste water engineering. He also mentioned that Cosmos recently received a US patent for wastewater treatment process capable treating oil and gas and other industrial wastewaters.
“I am proud of the work we have accomplished throughout the years,” said Douglas indicating that he looks forward to receiving more work as a certified MBE.
