A Pig Roast for the Community was held Sept. 2 in the Lincoln-Lemington area of Pittsburgh, at Cheers Tavern owned by Larry and Lottie Mitchell. They have been doing this for 20 years.

Local community leaders were honored. Louis “Hop” Kendrick, Joe Preston and Rich Adams are just three of the past honorees.

Attending the event was Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald, state Rep. Ed Gainey, and Sonya Toler, representing the mayor’s office. The entire community was invited for free food, games and entertainment. More than 300 individuals have attend in previous years.
