:10—Now wait just a minute…I can’t be the only person in America that can see what’s goin’ on here. You people just refuse to talk about The Spurs and what they did to your beloved “Heat.” All this talk about LeBron and no talk about how Duncan and the boys ran his butt out of Miami. That’s right. I said it. If “The Heat” had won, we wouldn’t be talking about “The King” changing addresses now would we?!?!
:09—Let me tell you now cause some of you can’t stay awake until the end of the column. Sign your young future stars up for the Armon Gilliam Memorial “Hard Work” Basketball Camp while there’s still room. And by the way, some of you may have gotten the wrong date on a bad flyer that was out there. The camp is on Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3, at the Penn Hills YMCA — boys and girls ages 8-15 years old — $25 registration covers both days — lunch provided — t-shirt — certificate for completing camp — college and pro level instruction — Total supervision — Anti-drug, Alcohol, Amoke & Bad Language facility — parent or guardian must register child the morning of — camp starts at 8:45 a.m. be there. Former NBA star and CBA slam dunk champion, Myron Brown, will be special guest!
:08—Armon “The Hammer” Gilliam…the pride of Pittsburgh, Bethel Park, UNLV and the NBA, we love you and we really, really miss you!
:07—By now you know that we’ve lost another champion to “Heaven’s Hooper’s.” Esau Watkins, one of the greatest set shot shooters in the Connie Hawkins League and Pittsburgh City League history. He’ll be a great asset off the bench. Why off the bench you ask? Well, here’s your starting five. Kenny Durrett, Maurice Lucas, Jeep Kelly, Armon Gilliam and Tyrone “Moon” Howard. And lets not forget Larry “Byrd” Richardson, Darrell Gissendanner, Simmie Hill, Lenard “Houn” Johnson, Nathan “Sonny” Lewis, George Harvey and Kenny West…anymore questions!
:06—To my man Lewis Colyar, who’s not only “In the Locker Room,” he’s always in the Courier. Welcome my friend and “What’s your point!”
:05—If you haven’t done so by now, you need to put this on your list of things to do. The next time you see Roland Ford…the Line Dance King, shake his hand and pat him on the back. Trust me when I tell ya there’s not a harder working man in Pittsburgh at saving this community!
:04—Speaking of saving the community, and I was, you may not know it or realize it, but there are four men working tirelessly to keep Pittsburgh someplace special. County Executive Rich Fitzgerald, Mayor Bill Peduto, B-Pep CEO Tim Stevens and state Rep. Ed Gainey. The only other four guys to work harder were “The Four Tops!” (I hope Stephan, Ulish, and Mr. Doss let me say this.)
:03—Don’t count Pat Riley out cause “Bron Bron” left. Riles don’t go out that easy. Yeah, I know, Bosh ain’t worth $100,000 let alone $100,000,000, but he’s gotta hold down the fort. The best way he can.
:02—Here’s how crazy I am. I am in the movie cheering for the damn apes…and I know how it’s going to end. C’mon Neal! I give Planet of the Apes Revisited 4? basketballs. It’s good!
:01—By now you know Brewstone Restaurant got padlocked for not paying their liquor tax to the tune of $65,000 and as a result ruining our First Friday White Party on the 4th of July.
