Women Blogging Seminar
    JUNE 28—The National Association of Women Business Owners Greater Pittsburgh will host “Pittsburgh Women Blog their way to success…Find out how you can too!” from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at Sigmas Conference & Event Center, 1717 Babcock Blvd, Pittsburgh. Attendees will learn ways to make their blogging pay in money or credibility and more. Dynamic women will share secrets of their blogging success and inspire others to do the same. Panelists include Cynthia Closkey, R’Chelle Mullins, Suzanne Mauro, Mercedes Howze and Lindsay Snodgrass. Members’ Orientation
    JUNE 30—The African American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania will host its Members’ Orientation from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Koppers Building, 436 Seventh Ave., Suite 2220, Downtown. The orientation is designed for new and existing members to learn more about the value of being part of the Chamber, it’s membership benefits and the structure of programs offered to help access business opportunities, and to get an overview of the Chamber and the Chamber Foundation. First Step
    JULY 11—The University of Pittsburgh Small Business Development Center will host The First Step: Mechanics of Starting a Small Business from 7:30-10:30 a.m. at the University of Pittsburgh, Mervis Hall, Roberto Clemente Dr., Oakland. Experts will help attendees explore the size of their interested market and what marketing tools will be needed to attract customers, while also teaching them about business structures, access helpful resource, available funding options and more. Breakfast Series
    JULY 15—Duquesne University’s School of Leadership and Professional Advancement will host its Leadership Breakfast Series from 8-10 a.m. at Duquesne University, Power Center Ballroom, 600 Forbes Ave., Uptown. The topic will be “Leader and Passion: Two Words that Will Flip Your World.” This education and networking event clarifies the essential relationship between the concepts of being a leader and having passion, and will offer practical implications for everyday leading, living and thriving. The First Step
    JULY 16—Duquesne University’s Small Business Development Center will host “The First Step: Business Startup Essentials” from 9:30 a.m.-12 p.m. at Duquesne University, Rockwell Hall, 600 Forbes Ave., Uptown. This seminar is designed for new business startups and entrepreneurs, attendees will learn about business structure and formation, insurance, government procurement, financing options and more. Second Step
    JULY 25—The University of Pittsburgh Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence’s Small Business Development Center will host the “Second Step: Developing a Business Plan” seminar from 7:30-10 a.m. at the University of Pittsburgh, Mervis Hall, Roberto Clemente Dr., Oakland. Attendees will learn about operational and production planning, conducting market research and creating financial planning spreadsheets to attract funding for one’s business.
