There currently exists throughout the Black communities in Allegheny County an all time high unemployment rate, particularly among Black men. Black voters since 1936 [78years] have been the most dedicated bloc of voters in supporting the Democrat Party. The political bosses have never demonstrated they had a genuine concern to address this tremendous problem.
It is understandable that there are not enough political jobs to address this problem, but they have failed to use other methods to correct the unemployment situation. The overwhelming majority of the limited number of Blacks who get elected to a position become totally concerned about issues that old Massa directs them toward, and could care less about those who voted for them.
However there is an exception and his current title is Hon. Allegheny County Councilman William “Bill” Robinson.
A number of years ago Bill was elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, replacing the legendary K. Leroy Irvis. Bill, in all probability, would still be in the House seat if he had played it safe by ignoring a critical situation involving two major construction projects that were excluding Blacks.
It was a deplorable situation; a baseball stadium and football stadium were being built at the same time. Rep. Bill Robinson along with several others took multiple tours of the taxpayer-funded sites, but they were extremely disappointed at what they witnessed. Bill contacted the mayor and members of the Democrat Party to help rectify the deplorable situation and to a person they declined.
Bill then issued a report card that dealt with the lack of Blacks working on the stadiums which gave them a failing grade by stating only 2 percent of contracts had been awarded to Blacks. Some years later another local newspaper revisited the stadium contracts and stated Bill was wrong; it was only 1 percent.
The leaders of the Democrat Party went off the reservation and declared war on Bill and promised they would defeat him and they did.
