:10—And there’s no greater truth than this—without Tiger Woods in the Masters, the viewing percentage was down 46 percent. “You know…that’s too much power for one man!”
:09—I had the great opportunity to witness and interview “Iron Mike” Tyson Thursday afternoon at the Capital Grille Downtown Pittsburgh, but trust me, this was not your grandfather’s Mike Tyson. Not the man that said his objective in the ring was to kill his opponent…and eat his children! No. This is a changed man and in a few weeks I’ll bring you the exclusive and all the details. But not here. No way, Big Time. You’re gonna have to buy a Courier. And I say that cause I know you’re tighter than ten toes in a sock and you’re the only one in Pittsburgh that doesn’t subscribe.
BILL NEAL

:08—Hey, here’s a new sport. It’s called Sue the Bully or the Parents of the Bully, or the School System that doesn’t bring it to an immediate end. Sue their sorry butts until they all truly understand…there is now a zero tolerance for bullies!
:07—You’re just gonna love this, I promise – – – – – I don’t know if you heard it through the grapevine, but there’s a sideshow gonna begin and it’s expected to be a fantastic voyage. The keeper’s of the castle, the one and only Champion Enterprises…the hardest working people in show business bring you First Friday Fantasies starting Friday, May 2 and continuing through October and you can “bet your last money it’s gonna be a stone gas honey!” Because everybody’s going to be there. We got people coming from everywhere…Jodi Rieley, the Backstabbers, Mickey’s Monkey, My Girl, a Do Right Woman and a Do Right Man and of course it’s not a ball of confusion without Papa and his Brand New Bag. Now those of you that are truly Superfly got that rap, but for you Sly Slick and Wickit folks, let me break in town for ya. Friday, May 2—the Brewstone Restaurant in Monroeville, William Penn Highway, across from Sheetz – 8:00 p.m. till 2 a.m. – free parking – cash bar – cash kitchen till midnight – 50/50 – the legend Sly Jock – the Fabulous Allure Models – and special guest Pitt All-American Jennifer Bruce…Duquesne University legend and Boston Celtic draftee B.B. Flenory and 4-time Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl Champion J.T. Thomas, and all this for only $10 at the door. Brought to you by the United Rays Corvette Club, Turning Corners Youth Organization and Penn Avenue McDonald’s. For more information, call 412-628-4856. Now let’s get this party started and dance to the break of dawn! (Oooohhhh Man I’m Good!)
:06—NBA Round-Up. So here’s what you think. You think that because Toronto came close to Brooklyn, they have a chance…no, they don’t! You also think Atlanta can beat the Pacers…no, they can’t! And trust me when I tell you Houston and the Clippers will prevail. I’ll keep ya posted.

:05—Speaking of oldies, and I was, the only thing worse than falling out of a plane with no parachute is hearing part one of “Bad Luck” by Harold Melvin and the Bluenotes…featuring Teddy Pendergrass and not hearing part two! Come on old school people, if you play part one you must play part two…ya’ll know!
:04—The new community service agency, Turning Corners, headed by the visionary Sheldon Oliver, did just that this past weekend. The kick-off fundraiser/ dinner/social event drew a hundred plus people to the Hosanna House for great food, great connection and a great time. Former Duquesne University and Boston Celtic legend B.B. Flenory headed an outstanding list of guests speakers and with the United Rays Corvette Club in the house, there was nothing left to do but have a great time and dance the night away. Continue your vision Brother Oliver. Turn corners and turn young lives around…you got here just in time!
:03—So you thought my whole Sam Clancy retired uniform was much ado about nothing huh? How ’bout “Sam Bam” hasn’t played basketball in over 20 years and he’s still the 13th all time leading rebounder in NCAA history! C’mon Pitt.
:02—I thought by now I would be telling you about the Old Timers repeating as national champions. Well, I can’t because they didn’t. Blame it on the coach. That’s the easy way.
:01—The rumor that the legend formerly known as Flyin Myron Brown has flown for the last time is just that. Brown, a former NBA draft pick of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Slippery Rock Hall of Fame All-American, will soar again at the Champions 39th Annual High School All-Star Classic at the new Centre Avenue YMCA, Saturday, May 10. Myron and the Brown Bombers will take on Coach Debbie Coleman and her job corp. team at 2 p.m., followed by H.S. senior girls at 3 p.m. and senior boys at 5 p.m. Seniors wanting to play should contact the Champions right away at 412-628-4856.
