FEB. 19—Living Waters International Church, 337 Shaw Ave., Clairton, will host the honoring of Bishop Thelma Mitchell as a Sweetheart at 7:30 p.m. The church will honor pastor and founder Bishop Mitchell through a weeklong event, which will run through Feb. 23 and include local pastors such as Bishop Loran Mann, Bishop James Foster and Bishop Edward Shouse, along with their congregations. Black History Month Program

FEB. 22—The Byrdie E. Crunkleton Memorial Court No. 3 of the Heroines of Jericho and The Starlighters will host the “Each One Teach One” History Program, Poetry Slam and Fish Fry from 12-4 p.m. at St. James AME Church, Sumpter Hall, 444 Lincoln Ave., East Liberty. The program is in recognition of Black History Month and American Heart Month. The afternoon will feature performances by Wali Jamal as Martin Delany, a health awareness presentation by the National Kidney Foundation, an author’s spotlight and a poetry slam. Vendor Show

FEB. 22—New Life Ministries will host a Vendor Show from 12-5 p.m. at 405 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne. There will be a hair show, a prom fashion show, healthcare screenings, free haircuts, networking and special appearances by Chief Public Defender Elliot Howsie and Pitt student athletes. BHM Concert

FEB. 23—The C.H. Foggie/Allegheny AMEZ Conference Choir and the Black History Workshop Choir will host its Annual Black History Month Musical Concert at 4 p.m. at Homewood AMEZ Church, 724 N. MARCH 9—The Jubilant Women for Christ Women’s Ministry of Sixth Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 6556 Shetland St., East Liberty, will host its 500 Women In Purple Worship Service at 3:30 p.m. The guest preacher will be Rev.
