HAVING FUN—Lisa and Vince Butts, Carla Adams and Karen Peters
The buzz began on the Facebook page of the Alpha Alpha Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc. weeks before the event took place.
This year’s theme was “Pearls, Pumps and Polos.” The theme was carried out by unique centerpieces on each table. Beautiful pumps were decorated in pink and green; some of the shoes were painted while others were embellished with pearls, beads and sequins. Strands of pearls and a polo shirt neatly rolled in a vase completed the display.
Guests enjoyed line dancing with Roland Ford and danced to the sounds of DJ Ice Water and partied cabaret style for hours. The only gold soror in the building, Pat English, walked away with the proceeds of the 50/50 raffle. The evening was a success and raised funds for AKA programs. Lynne Hayes Freeland and Crystal McCormick Ware served as event chairs.
