At a performance in New York on May 15, West went off on a tangent about fame and celebrity, adamantly denying in an expletive-filled rant that he should be considered one:
“I’m the worst kinda … celebrity, ’cause all I do is make real music. … So I don’t know why they running up on me with no cameras, trying to like, sell pictures and s*** to magazines, asking me those dumba** questions, throwing me off of my focus and s***. Harassing you all motherf****** day,” West said. “I’m trying to make some music that inspires people to be the best they can be – and I don’t want nobody to ask nothing else of me.”
As for Kardashian, she has a different understanding of what her profession as a reality TV star entails. But she still thinks, as do other A-listers like Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber, that there should be some regulations in place for the kind of access paparazzi have to celebrities.
“I get I live a public life. I live my life on a reality show for the world to see,” Kardashian said on Twitter. “I love my life, but when the cameras stop, that doesn’t mean I don’t want a break too. I’m 32 yrs old now, about to be a mom. I’m not 25 clubbing around LA anymore. There’s no excuse for threats & stalking!”
Unfortunately, the trail of photographers isn’t likely to diminish as the E! personality inches closer to her due date. Kardashian and West are expecting the arrival of their daughter in July.
