Strategies For Women In Business

JULY 10—The University of Pittsburgh’s Institute for Entrepreneurial Excellence will host “Let’s Make A Deal: Effective Negotiations Strategies for Women In Business” from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at the Rivers Club, One Oxford Centre, 301 Grant St., Downtown. This seminar is for individuals who want to better leverage the skills they already have and who wants to get past negotiation anxiety. MJ Toochi will discuss negotiations from the unique perspective of women entrepreneurs, tips for identifying negotiation opportunities and how to gain more confidence in one’s ability to successfully negotiate. Brown bag lunch

JULY 11—Volunteers of America will host their Brown Bag Lunch Series from 12-1 p.m. at 1650 Main St., Pittsburgh. The topic will be “Making the Most Out of Vendor Shows” with Mary Pam Kilgore, of Kilgore Business Services LLC, as the guest speaker. She will discuss tips on making vendor opportunities worth the expense to one’s marketing plan, how to promote, set up, manage one’s vendor tables, and more. This is free and open to the public. Financial workshop

JULY 12—The Business Institute of the African American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania will host “Digging Out-Cleaning Up-Moving Forward” from 8:30-10 a.m. at Citizens Bank, 28th floor, 525 William Penn Place, Downtown. This workshop is designed to address financial issues that face small business owners and business professionals. Banking professionals will be on hand to directly answer questions. Topics that will be discussed are debt consolidation, cleaning up, identity theft and more. Registration is required by July 10. Women’s conference

JULY 12—Inspired Women in Business and Life will host the Inspired Women’s Conference at the Marriott North, 100 Cranberry Woods Dr., Cranberry Township. This is an empowering two-day event with national speakers, breakout sessions, vendors and more. Breakfast meeting

JULY 13—The African American Chamber of Commerce of Western Pennsylvania will host Special Breakfast at 8 a.m. at the Rivers Club, One Oxford Centre, 301 Grant St., Downtown. The honorable Jack Wagner, auditor general of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, will be the guest speaker. He will update the audience on the state’s financial health and the new budget.
