The Pittsburgh Council of Men held their annual dinner dance on Nov. 25, at the newly remodeled Comfort Inn in Harmarville. A sold out crowd enjoyed dinner, dancing and an elegant evening with friends old and new. Stella Hopewell was the line dance leader and Howard Booker provided the soundtrack. The Pittsburgh Council of men were sporting their signature red jackets and made a great showing.

The Pittsburgh Council of Men was founded in May of 1972 by the late Fred Gladney Sr. In May of 1973 they became a non-profit organization.
The organization owns a 40-unit four story housing complex called Shady Park Place in North Braddock, for handicapped and elderly residents. This project represents a major effort by an African-American men’s organization in the Pittsburgh area.
